Commercial sizing is a different calculation from residential. A large low-slope roof gathers an enormous drainage area behind very few outlets, so peak flow during an Alberta summer storm arrives fast and concentrated. We calculate drainage area per outlet rather than working from linear footage alone, which is why our commercial specifications frequently call for more downspouts than the building originally had.

Scheduling on an occupied commercial property is as much of the job as the work itself. We coordinate around tenant parking, loading bays, business hours and access restrictions, and we notify site contacts before crews arrive. For retail and multi-family sites we generally work early mornings or outside peak trading hours so that customer and resident access is never obstructed.
